They say, “You never forget your first…” no matter what it is. First love, first kiss, first best friend, or first stalker. I’m not sure who “they” are but they are definitely correct in that statement! A few months ago, when I entered the #BookTok world, I had no idea about Dark Romance, Stalker Romance, or any romance books to tell you the truth. I was just discovering MaskTok (oh let’s not stop there – it’ll be a while!) Enter Erin, a wonderful lady who just happened to Mod for a masked account I follow. I popped into one of her lives and my love for dark romance was born!
Feeling a bit foolish saying I had never read a spicy book before, I mustered the courage and she got very excited! Immediately she grabbed two books from her shelf. Once You’re Mine and Now You’re Mine by Morgan Bridges. She described them as a slow burn (which I had to look up – I know!) and said they’d be perfect starter books for me. Jumping onto Amazon, I ordered Once You’re Mine and waited for it to arrive. My sister jumped on board and ordered it to.
I could not put this book down! Hayden Bennett changed my choices in reading forever! While I plan to do a review dedicated just to this book, let us just park here a minute. A gorgeous, district attorney, with a touch her and die, I want to right the wrongs of the world, and the heart-breaking backstory of why he is that way… where is the sign-up sheet? Where is the elevator? No, really.
In life, I have always gravitated towards the bad boy, underdogs. But once I started reading and realized that not only could we have the bad boy, but he chooses to be good for us – well let’s just say I was hooked! By chapter two, my sister had already ordered book two and we were ready to go! It is hilarious to me that with just this one book, so many things changed.
Now, I find myself in the book isle at Walmart (it’s always Walmart – ha!) chatting with other book lovers and sharing what we like and what we don’t like. Did you read this? Well, this is coming out soon… and so on. It is these conversations that sparked the idea for this blog. A place to share my thoughts on what I’m reading.
At the time of writing this, I am eight spicy dark romance and one psychological thriller’s deep in reading. My TBR is growing faster than I could have ever imagined. Not to mention that I now am a Kindle Unlimited (KU) subscriber – oh that’s a whole world by itself.
While I feel I’ve come into this adventure a little behind, I am catching up at my own pace and having a blast doing it. I hope you’ll join me and share in the book love! The goal with this blog, like most things, is to have fun, share what I’m reading, and connect with other book lovers (does not have to just be dark romance)!
